Ten days since I left home to Austria. I can’t describe how beautiful this country is. Even if I try, I will not do it justice. I miss home though. We all do. I love Abu Dhabi even if I end up staying at home it’s still alright.

So remember when I said I wasn’t going to watch any news in the only English channel they have (CNN)? I ended doing so.
I got tired of acting smart. I was watching ORF1- a channel that shows all my favorite shows in German and since I have seen all the episodes of all the series they are showing, I thought it would be a good idea to learn a little of the language but it didn’t work. I became annoying to everyone around me by adding an EN to every word I use. =) example: “welcommen to ouren roomen” – translation: Welcome to our room. I have been getting all these weird looks from my husband. Ahmed actually likes it he now calls me Mamen and his dad Baben and the Nanny Ofelien and his uncles Khalen. You get the picture.
Back to the subject of the news channel. I was watching a Christiana Amanpour report on God’s Warriors. It was a three episode series of 2 hours each. The first one covered the Jewish warriors, then the Muslims and Christians subsequently. I was truly shocked to learn about some of the things I watched. There is so much hatred in the world, it is so scary. I did disagree with many things on the Muslim episode especially the part with the Shiate hitting themselves. To my humble opinion Allah gave us our bodies and expected us to do well with it. Not to hit ourselves to bleed. What purpose does it serve? I am not here to argue religion but I just had to get it out of my chest.
The report was great I think. It gave insight to many of the hidden things that take place in the name of religions.

So anyhow, I am in secluded areas and have been for quite sometime. We took the train from Vienna to Salzburg. It was a 3 and half hour ride. We then took a car from Salzburg station to an very exclusive hotel called the Gruner Baum in Bad Gastien. It is a piece of paradise. I walked for hours in the mountains and through the farms. Aaah wish you guys can all go.
A few days in Bad Gastien and we drove to Zell am See. We stayed at the Hotel Salzburgerhof which was great. The service was wonderful. The area is filled with Kuwaitis and Saudis. It was like watching a series in Ramadan. The accents are wonderful. I kept telling my husband I feel like I am watching TV.
A couple of days in Zell am See and now we are in Tyrol- an area 2 hours away by car. I watched a movie on the way which helped pass time.
We will be here for a couple of days then we are heading to Munich. =)
It feels like ages. I feel revived.

I haven’t updated in 8 months and believe me my life has been so busy that I haven’t even noticed! Until I received a sms from a friend “see I understand you are a very busy person, you don’t answer your phone calls, you don’t call back, and you don’t even update your website! That is my only way to know you are ok! Please update I am sick of seeing the same images every time I check it. “
I apologise for neglecting this site. I guess I have been enjoying life to the fullest that I keep missing out on a big part of it which is having you guys read and comment.
Anyways, I am in Austria and have been here for almost a week. A wonderful week that is! It’s my first time here and I love the weather and the people. The first day was terrible because I was homesick although I had my favourite people with me but I guess it’s not traveling for a very long time that has caused it. Channels on TV only view Deutch languages and the only English channels were the news and I wasn’t getting near that!
After I overcame the feeling of not belonging, I dragged Ahmed and his Dad for a walk in Vienna. It was nice having that very cold breeze hit you all of the sudden and take your breath away for a few seconds. It is a very romantic place and a romantic weather. Meant for couples and honeymooners. The cold weather makes you want to hold someone and get some warmth. I held Ahmed till he got sick of it “Mama bas!”
I was surprised to see the number of Khaleeji Arabs. It was nice seeing them and hearing the accents at every corner. Makes you feel like home.
I miss you all very much and I promise I will update more often.
Next stop is Salzburg in my next update. (very soon- like in a couple of days =))
