Celebrate YOU

Quote: Every moment of life is worth a celebration. If you have not appreciated life and its precious moments, it is time to do so.

It’s the weekend- it feels really weird having to stay at home on Saturday instead of a Thursday but I think I actually like it. Friday’s is a very religious day that is spent in prayers and family gatherings so it’s good that we have the following day off to get pending things done. I know you might say you could’ve done it on Thursday but naaah I never did. Thursdays were usually for outings.
After the surgery I headed to Dubai to spend sometime away from everyone. We went to Bab Al Shams- the secluded resort. The drive was very long but I did enjoy the talks my husband and I shared on the way.
We arrived at the beautiful resort and right away I started making appointments for a spa retreat. I was booked for 2 hours after our arrival so we spent time in the dessert with camels. Ahmed loved it. It was his first time on sand bare foot. The sand was warm and it was wonderful watching his reaction as his weight pulled his feet in the dune. He got a grab of things in no time. =)
I spent 2 hours in Satori Spa and went for the Damask Rose Treatments (Facial and Body). I love spas! I really do.
We also drove all the way to Fujairah! We stayed at Le Meridian Al Aqah Beach Resort. Beautifully situated on the Indian Ocean. The beach over there is beautiful and so is pool. We built sand castles and played with the water for a bit. I headed to Beauty Center (again!)- Got my hair & nails done and put henna on my hands. There was an old English woman who was getting her hair coloured. We exchanged smiles as we sat there and it happened that we were leaving together. In the elevator she said: “You are well into pampering yourself. You have henna on- it’s beautiful. There must be a special occasion you’re all dressed up for. What are you celebrating?”
I smiled and said “I am celebrating me.”
My response shocked her as I arrived to my floor. I smiled and said “I am worth it. Have a nice evening”.
I’ve been through a lot in past several months- from an early discovery of a mild tumor on my left cheek to undergoing a miscarriage- and believe me many other events in between. Life is too short to linger on things we have no control over. We need to stop complaining and start acting. We need to start celebrating everyday of our lives. Celebrate who we are and what we are. Celebrate the fact that we are still alive and still can make a change. Life is full of beautiful moments that are worth celebrating. Some moments make us smile, laugh and some others make us frown, and cry. Some moments stick in our memories forever and some are erased as they happen. Whatever the case is, I have so much to celebrate.
I celebrate being me. A wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister and a friend.
I celebrate my family and friends. The breath of fresh air in my life.
I celebrate my health.
I celebrate my education.
I celebrate my career. I worked very hard for it.
I celebrate country. Words can’t express.
I celebrate life. It’s very beautiful.
And of course I celebrate you. Having you there for me, motivating and encouraging my every step.
Celebrate by soaking in a bubble bath, getting a full body massage, taking a long walk, or just having sometime alone. Making new friends, turning your room into a haven or creating your own website. It doesn’t matter how you celebrate as long as you do.
Just having an attitude of gratitude to the fact that you are who you are.
{No one else is like you.
You are unique.
Exceptional.
You are precious.
Beautiful from the inside out
Celebrate YOU}
